Boot Camp is a non-traditional way to get in shape and feel great! Through resistance training using body weight, randomized movements, and cardiovascular training – you can get a lean, toned body.
Each boot camp is unique to its environment. Hills can be used for sprints, lunges, and skipping. A park bench and large rocks are not used for sitting but utilized for step ups, push-ups, and dips. Some boot camps have sand and grass while others have bleachers and a track. A side of a building is used to perform ball slams and wall ball shots. Everyday building structures and nature are transformed into boot camp equipment each time you show up to class.

For me personally, I am seeing CrossFit boot camps in a whole new light. It is truly changing lives from every day functional tasks to physical appearance. I met Latisha in March. She was one of my very 1st boot campers at Ann Richards School 6:00PM Tu/Th boot camp. She came in with a positive attitude and a desire to get in better shape. Air squats, push ups, sit-ups, agility ladder, and the warm-up lap were a challenge at the beginning; however, she showed up 2x a week every week to class and gave it her all. No excuses and consistency are why she is where she is today. 3 months later and Latisha's functional fitness has improved 10-fold. Her air squats are below parallel; push-ups are chest to ground; the agility ladder and the warm-up lap are easy tasks, and sit-ups are performed unmodified. Not only does this allow her to increase the amount of work she can perform during boot camp, but everyday tasks are done more at ease. Latisha is now 12 inches and smaller and continuing to chase after her goals. Latisha exemplifies how CrossFit really does improve functional everyday tasks.
Latisha’s story: “Boot camp has been a challenge for me both physically and mentally. When I first joined boot camp back in March of this year I didn't know what to except, but I was going in with a open mind. It was very difficult for me the first month. I could not keep up with the warm up at times, do a full sit up, a squat, or even run a small track without having to stop and walk the rest of the way. The thought of quitting entered my mind, but I'm glad I didn't. I would see my peers doing the workouts without any problems. I told myself I would get to that point in my workout. Well here I am in June, I am able to wiz through the warm up, do a full squat, sit up and even run the track without having to stop. HOORAY! In one month's time I have lost a whopping 4 pounds and a total of 12 inches. ooooooooooh yeah! Crossfit boot camp has made me both physically and mentally stronger than I have ever been in my life.” Boot camp takes clients beyond physical changes. Boot camp provides the opportunity to push through mental barriers and make moves.

A 6:30AM Tu/Th Deep Eddy boot camper, Tim, explains that boot camp has “completely made me a better person professionally and personally – much clearer mind and more positive attitude.”
